We care about the environment
We here at Wetteri believe that the world of tomorrow matters. This is why we think it is important to be aware of the environmental impacts of our main products, cars. We also want our customers to understand the significance of their choices.
Cars strain the environment throughout their life cycle. Manufacturing a car consumes our limited natural resources, and the industrial production of cars strains the atmosphere and water systems and creates waste. The exhaust from cars is a significant single source of greenhouse gases.
Despite the environmental impacts of cars, they are an essential part of the Finnish society. The challenge we here at Wetteri must face is to find a balance between reducing the strain on the environment and filling the needs of the society.
As the leading chain of car dealerships in Northern Finland, Wetteri has major responsibility of the future of our environment.
How to face the challenge
We try to make Wetteri more environmentally friendly by thinking about our everyday choices. We prefer to do business with companies that are committed to environmental issues, and our own activities are guided by the ISO 14001 environmental certificate.
The energy efficiency of new cars has improved considerably in the last decade, and the emission levels of carbon dioxide from new cars have been significantly reduced. Technical solutions are a one step into the right direction, but equally important is to have the drivers, our customers, to understand the effect of driving behaviour and regular maintenance on fuel consumption and emissions.
Also maintaining and repairing cars creates waste. We make sure that our waste will be further processed in a proper manner, and we sort our waste into recyclables and those that can be incinerated. By carefully sorting our waste, we have been able to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills by five per cent annually.
We all are responsible for our environment. We here at Wetteri know our responsibility and will develop our activities on environmental terms.
